KUALA LUMPUR: The third Klang Valley Malaysian Property Exposition (MAPEX) 2009 will be offering more than 4,000 units of homes valued at over RM2 billion for sale.

Themed “Safe and Secure Living”, MAPEX organising chairman and Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda) deputy president Datuk Michael Yam said in a statement that the theme was chosen to raise greater public awareness on safe and secure living environments especially in their own homes.

Jointly organised by Rehda Malaysia, Rehda Wilayah Persekutuan (KL) and Rehda Selangor, the third MAPEX, will take place from Nov 20 to 22 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Mid Valley Megamall here.

“This MAPEX will also encourage developers to feature developments which are fully equipped with safety measures besides educating the public on the importance of safety living in the community,” he said.

“With the ever increasing crime rate, Rehda endeavours to highlight and promote safe city initiatives towards enhancing living standards as well as addressing the safety and security concerns faced by dwellers,” he added.

Exhibitors comprise 32 property developers and 11 government agencies and banks.

“The government agencies are from the Treasury division, the Employee Provident Fund (EPF), the Tourism Ministry and the Housing and Local Government Ministry,” he said.

The property exhibition will open from 10am to 9pm daily. There will also be talks about “Planning for a Safe and Secure Living”, “Crime Prevention and the Role of the Community” and “Personal Safety”.
