KUALA LUMPUR: The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) is inviting applicants for its 2010 full scholarships.

The MBAM Education Fund Scholarships Awards 2010 are open to those applying for or are currently undertaking undergraduate courses related to the construction industry in 15 institutions locally.

"The scholarships give students financial aid to study in any chosen discipline in construction and hopefully these students would be able to contribute to the local construction industry when they graduate," MBAM president Ng Kee Len said in a statement here on March 9.

He said that to date, 62 students had received the scholarships and 16 had graduated.

The 15 institutions are Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa, Universiti Institut Teknologi Mara, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Universiti Malaysia Perlis and Universiti Malaysia Pahang.

The deadline for applications is April 20 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Application forms and more information are available at www.mbam.org.my. -- Bernama
