SEREMBAN: Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd is listed among the 200 best companies in Asia — Asia’s Best Under a Billion — in the latest Forbes Asia magazine.

Chairman Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohamad Amin said the achievement was due to the company’s strong performance and viability.

“Matrix Concepts is among 14 companies in Malaysia that are listed under the 200 best companies in Asia. This is a proud achievement by a company based in Negeri Sembilan,” he told reporters yesterday.

Matrix Concepts is involved in the development of Bandar Sri Sendayan in Negeri Sembilan. The development is a comprehensive mega township spanning 2,118ha of land comprising residential, commercial, institutions and industrial components.

Mohamad Haslah said Matrix Concepts will announce its financial performance for the first half of the year on Aug 19.

“We are actively planning for more developments in the third and fourth quarters of this year to further expand our business,” he said.

On the development of the Sendayan TechValley, spanning 263.25ha, he said to date some 182.25ha or 70% of the area had been taken up by 51 local investors and 10 foreign investors from Japan, China, Taiwan, France, Britain and Germany.

He said the foreign investors include Japanese companies Akashi Kikai (M) Sdn Bhd, Hino Motors Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd, Kayaku Safety System (M) Sdn Bhd, Meditop Corp (M) Sdn Bhd, China’s Keen Point (M) Sdn Bhd, TMC Metal (M) Sdn Bhd from Taiwan; Messier-Bugatti Dowty (M) Sdn Bhd from France; Britain’s Weir Minerals Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Schmidt + Clemens (Asia) Sdn Bhd from Germany.

The latest company to invest in Sendayan TechValley is Daihatsu Motors, involving an investment of some RM600 millon, he said.

“The construction of the Daihatsu Motors facility is scheduled to start next month and it requires 500 skilled and semi-skilled workers,” he said.  — Bernama
