KUALA LUMPUR: MTD ACPI Engineering Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Makin Permata Sdn Bhd, entered into a sales and purchase agreement with Campio Builders Sdn Bhd on July 6 for a 3.434-acre freehold commercial tract for RM8.23 million, the Group announced in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, July 7.

“The proposed disposal represents a good opportunity for the MTD ACPI and its subsidiaries to dispose its non-core assets as an ongoing effort to rationalise and streamline its existing assets… thus allowing MTD ACPI to redeploy the financial resources for its core businesses,” the Group said.

The net book value of the property as of March 31, 2009 was RM6.9 million.

MTD ACPI Engineering’s main activities are constructing and marketing heavy element precast products for viaducts, elevated highways, light rail transit guideways, bridges, building system products and contracting in the fields of environmental systems, as well as providing specialist contracting services.
