NEGRI SEMBILAN (June 7): Bumiputera house buyers will soon have an easier option to identify and buy homes in Negri Sembilan as the state government is in the process of developing a housing portal to facilitate the process.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the portal was being developed with assistance from housing project developers in the state.

"The portal will have a full list of bumiputera lots that are available to be bought in the state," he said.

It was understood that it will be compulsory for all housing developers in the state to register their projects in the portal.

Mohamad added that with the portal, it was hoped that there would no longer be an issue of developers finding it difficult to sell bumiputera lots.

"There were complaints from developers that they find it difficult to sell bumiputera lots," he said.

He added that the portal would have information on bumiputera lots that had been built and those currently being and would be built.

"The portal will be in a real-time set up, where buyers can communicate with developers online," he explained.

He said the portal would also be a platform for bumiputeras in other states to buy homes in Negri Sembilan.

"This means those from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and also those who are overseas can buy houses here, which are more affordable than anywhere else," he added.
