Public urged to cooperate with MPK to keep Perlis clean

KANGAR (Jan 3): Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu on Tuesday launched a cleanliness programme for the Simpang Empat area which is under the Kangar Municipal Council (MPK) area.

He said the programme was launched as part of an effort to make Perlis the cleanest state in the country and in line with making Perlis a developed state by 2015.

He called for public cooperation to help MPK to keep the state clean.

Compound notices will be issued by MPK to anyone caught violating regulations like littering, he added.

Later at the function, Md Isa presented house rental aid totalling RM13,392 — contributed by the Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Ministry — to nine recipients.

Also present at the function were State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Dr Por Cho Chor and MPK president Rosley Mat. — Bernama
