PUTRAJAYA: Over 500 residents of 76 apartment units used as government quarters in Precinct 11 in Putrajaya were evacuated to enable maintenance works to fix cracks and leakages at their premises.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk T. Murugiah said the maintenance works by the Public Works Department involved a cost of RM200,000.

He said the 515 residents had moved temporarily into a nearby apartment block since March 1, to enable maintenance works which would begin on April 1," he told reporters after visiting the quarters here on Wednesday March 10.

The quarters in Precinct 11 comprise five residential blocks with a total of 755 units which were occupied since 2004.
