Sunway unit bags RM257.97m job

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Holdings Bhd's unit Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SunCon) has accepted the letter of award (LoA) for a contract worth RM257.97 million from IDR Assets Sdn Bhd.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, March 4, it said that SunCon had on Thursday accepted the LoA for the proposed construction and completion of Package 4 – facility construction for LEGOLAND Malaysia Theme Park development in Johor.

"The project is targeted to be completed on June 2 next year with a construction period of 15 months. It is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of Sunway Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2011 onwards.

"The project is subject to normal construction risk of materials price fluctuation. However, with the past experience and expertise of SunCon in construction projects in Malaysia, this risk could be mitigated at this juncture," it added.
