MARANG (Terengganu): The Terengganu state government will ask for a report from the Public Works Department regarding the upgrading of the Majils Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu (MBKT) Aquatic Centre after several parts of the pool were found to be damaged.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said till now, he has not been told of the damage or whether the damage has been repaired.

"I will ask for a report from the PWD as early as possible for repairs and the like. I have come to understand that the swimming pool is still under the control of the contractor," he told reporters after launching the Kelas Tamayyuz
and excellent students awards at Sekolah Menengah Agama Marang on Friday April 9.

The MBKT Aquatic Centre worth RM18 million was built by the state government for the Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) 2008 swimming events. - Bernama
