KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 3): Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) on Wednesday awarded three station packages for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang project totalling RM732.2 million.

The awards were made following a sitting of the One-Stop Procurement Committee in Putrajaya which was chaired by the Second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, the company said in a statement.

Naim Engineering Sdn Bhd was awarded Package S2 for the construction and completion of elevated stations and other associated works at Taman Industri Sungai Buloh, PJU 5 and Kota Damansara.

The contract for this package is worth RM204.7 million.

"These awards are the best evaluated bids from the group which was shortlisted earlier. With three more station packages awarded, I’m glad to say that the MRT project is progressing very well," said MRT Corp chief executive officer Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid.

Naim Engineering is also the successful bidder for Package S4 for the construction and completion of elevated stations and other associated works at Section 16 in Pusat Bandar Damansara and Semantan.

The RM208 million contract was awarded on July 26.

UEM Construction Sdn Bhd received the RM275.8 million Package S3 for construction and completion of The Curve, One Utama and Dataran Sunway elevated stations and other associated works.
