Tune Hotels expands into Taiping

PETALING JAYA: Tune Hotels continues to strengthen its domestic presence as it opens its new 113-room hotel, called Tune Hotel Taiping, in Taiping, Perak.

“Tune Hotels is delighted to be here in Taiping, underscoring our presence and growth in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia,” said chief executive officer Mark Lankester in a recent press statement.

“This [town] has a lot of potential for both business and leisure tourism and the [new hotel] is yet another reflection of our commitment to the rapidly developing northern corridor. Tune Hotel Taiping is part of the new Taiping Centre Point (TCP), located across fromTaiping Sentral Mall and Tesco hypermarket, and within minutes from the Columbia Asia Hospital. The hotel is also 2km away from the iconic Taiping railway station, the country’s oldest.

TCP, a mixed development, also comprises a block of business suites with 127 units of TCP suites and four units of shop offices. TCP also features a multi-level car park podium for hotel guests and apartment residents.

Lankester noted the growing stream of business and leisure visitors to Taiping and its surrounding areas, with the town’s history and attractions such as the Taiping Zoo and Taiping Lake Gardens.

Taiping is easily accessible via the North-South Expressway, with Penang about 110km to the north and Kuala Lumpur 260km down south.
