PUTRAJAYA: Parking woes in Putrajaya, which have been described as reaching a critical level, will be lessened once a 2-storey car park is built in Precinct 7 where the government offices complex is located.

Putrajaya Corp president Tan Sri Samsudin Osman said the car park, which would be able to accommodate over 100 cars, would be located between Kompleks B and Kompleks C at the complex. He said the building was expected to be  ready by this year.

"We have to give priority to visitors having dealings with the government and after this pay parking system using the 2-storey car park is introduced, it will alleviate parking problems in the area," he told reporters after officiating a ceremony to appreciate Putrajaya area officers here on Jan 19.

Samsudin also said Putrajaya would also increase parking lots in other areas like at the government offices in Kompleks D for the same reason.-- Bernama
