Some of its most prominent developments include Eco Majestic in Semenyih, Eco Sanctuary in Teluk Panglima Garang and Eco Grandeur in Sg Buloh.

While many are amazed by the landscaping and opulent design of the townships, EcoWorld president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah stresses that aesthetics are but one of the elements in the planning and building of livable environments with long-term value creation – the keys to sustainability.

In fact, to achieve their sustainability goals, EcoWorld has set up a Sustainability Committee chaired by Chang. The committee ensures that the company meets its commercial objectives, protect stakeholder interests while being responsible to the community and environment.

The Sustainability Committee drives the group’s sustainability initiatives and reports its progress on a half yearly basis to the Board for feedback and endorsement.

“When EcoWorld was founded back in 2013, we took great deliberation and care in coming up with our vision of Creating Tomorrow and Beyond. We aspired to deliver long-term value to our stakeholders by offering sustainable products, liveable environments and meaningful opportunities. For us, sustainability isn’t just an afterthought. In fact, it’s at the forefront of every masterplan and we look at it from the drawing boards onwards,” said Chang in his acceptance speech tonight at the Awards.

He added: “This honour from EdgeProp is really something that we hold very dear to our hearts as it affirms our continuous efforts to create not only livable but lovable spaces for people, across all generations. Our commitment to sustainability is a constant work in progress and by no means are we “done” yet. We still have much to learn and ways to go in pursuit of our vision. We are truly very encouraged by tonight’s award as it cheers us on our journey.”

Last year, EcoWorld’s affordable housing project Karisma Apartment @ Eco Majestic was named EdgeProp Malaysia Editor’s Choice Awards: Malaysia’s Outstanding Affordable Homes Project 2020. In 2018, Cradelton at Eco Majestic and The Verandah at Eco Botanic was awarded Silver for the Below 10 years multiple-owned strata residential category. In the same year, Eco Business Park I was awarded Gold in the below 10 years specialized category.

The other two developers who were crowned the Responsible Developer Awards tonight are Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd and Sime Darby Property.

Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin was the guest of honor of BMSPA 2021.
