PANGKOR: Best Western International,the world's largest hotel chain, has opened its newest property in Malaysia.

The Best Western Marina Island Resort Pangkor on Pangkor Island, Perak boasts 170 luxurious hotel apartments.

Built at a cost of RM45 million, it is part of the Marina Island Pangkor development which includes residential, commercial, leisure and entertainment projects.

The resort's general manager Thong Keng Tong said in a statement on July 12 that the hotel is "for those seeking relaxation and a place to spoil the senses".

Each hotel apartment features a balcony with picturesque views. Each comes with a kitchenette, living and dining area. Facilities include an on-site restaurant, conference hall and meeting rooms, and various outdoor leisure activities.

The Marina Island Resort Pangkor is located off the coastline of Teluk Muruk, Perak, overseeing Pangkor Island and Pangkor Laut. A bridge and five-minute boat ride connect the island to the Perak mainland.
