KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned unit of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd (BPH) has accepted the letter of award from Lintasan Mayang Development Sdn Bhd to build 33 units (three blocks) of two- to three-storey shopoffices.

In its filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Bina Puri Holdings said the RM17.37 million contract, on part of lot 3 Alamesra, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, was expected
to be completed within 18 months.

Meanwhile, BPH said its Thai unit, Bina Puri (Thailand) Ltd, has signed a contract agreement with Siam Pineapple Feed Co Ltd to set up a joint-venture,
Bina Puri-Dimara JV.

It said the joint venture would undertake the construction of Siam Pineapple Feed's plant at Rayong, Thailand for RM1.57 million.

The constuction was expected to take five months, it said.

It said the two contracts were expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings for financial year ending Dec 31, 2010.

To date, the group's current book order stood at RM2.61 billion with RM1.52 billion new projects secured in 2010, it said. -- Bernama
