Bintai Kinden gets RM176m Singapore project

KUALA LUMPUR: Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd (BKCB) has clinched subcontracts worth S$68.8 million (RM176 million) from Singaporean firm Greatearth Construction Pte Ltd. One subcontract involves a proposed construction of a 19-storey block at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Mandalay Road in Singapore. The project is valued at S$44.65 million.

The other contract, worth S$24.15 million, involves the construction of a seven-storey school of medicine building with a link to the existing school of biological sciences building at the Nanyang Technological University in Nanyang Drive.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, BKCB said its 69.82%-owned subsidiary Bintai Kindenko Pte Ltd would undertake the subcontracts.

“The project is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of BKCB group and shall not have any material financial effect on the earnings, net assets and gearing of BKCB for the financial year ending March 31, 2015,” BKCB said. — by Meena Lakshana
