KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): BRDB Developments Sdn Bhd plans to launch RM2 billion worth of projects this year – namely in TamanSari in Rawang, Selangor, the Defense Raya Golf and Country Club (DRGCC) in Lahore, Pakistan, and Gateway Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia.
“The RM2 billion will be derived from new launches of ongoing projects, the DRGCC in Lahore, the upcoming Gateway Wollongong in Australia, and TamanSari in Rawang,” said BRDB CEO Edwin Yang.
Yang is confident that luxury residential DRGCC’s upcoming new phase will be as successful as the previous launches, with the previous two phases’ 381 units fully sold within a month of their launch.
“We have 118 villas left in the third phase, which are scheduled to be launched sometime this year and we are confident that it will do just as well as the previous launches,” said Yang.
DRGCC is scheduled for completion in 2021 and comprises residential and commercial components with a GDV of RM2.69 billion.
Meanwhile, Yang noted that the upcoming Gateway Wollongong will attract a mix of investors and owner-occupiers as it is the third largest city in New South Wales and has a strategic location as it houses a Buddhist Temple and the University of Wollongong.
“Wollongong is a university town, and is located about an hour away from Sydney. More than 15,000 professionals commute from Wollongong to Sydney every day for work,” said Yang.
Gateway Wollongong has an estimated GDV of RM491 million and is scheduled to be launched in July this year. The mixed-use development offers 220 properties, comprising residential units with built-ups of 628 sq ft to 1,285 sq ft and commercial units with built-ups of 1,475 to 6,566 sq ft .
Back home, BRDB will soon launch the remaining phases of TamanSari, a 265-acre freehold township with a gross development value (GDV) of RM2 billion that comprises 2,000 terraced house units.
BRDB’s portfolio includes Inara, One Menerung, Senja, Serai Bukit Bandaraya, The Troika, 6 Capsquare, Verdana and TamanSari; and commercial projects such as the Boulevard and Bangsar Shopping Centre.
