What makes a successful township/project? Ho Chin Soon, the director of the eponymous Ho Chin Soon Research, puts it down to, among other factors, accessibility and the neighbourhood.

By that, Ho means the proximity of the project to highways, the type of developments in the surrounding area and the availability of amenities such as  international schools and shopping complexes.

Another factor that would help enhance the value of a property would be a developer’s ability to introduce creative layout and land use.

Citing Desa Park City in Kuala Lumpur as an example, Ho says the lake and commercial area fronting the lake in the township help to add value to the real estate there.

Ho will be among the speakers at The Edge Investment Forum on Real Estate 2010, titled “To buy or not to buy — Where to put your money?”, on April 10 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur,
Another highlight of Ho’s presentation will be his observation of the Klang Valley’s current six “hot” locations and townships. He is also expected to reveal other locations/townships that he sees as emerging real estate hot spots with good investment potential.

At The Edge Investment Forum on Real Estate 2009, Ho tracked the price trends of certain mid-range landed homes and high-end condominiums in the Klang Valley and he will update this at the coming forum.
