KUALA LUMPUR: Crest Builders Holdings Bhd (Crest Builders) and Triplc Bhd entered into separate Concession Agreements with the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, by way of Private Finance Initiative, on Tuesday, May 4. The agreements will see Crest Builders and Triplc Bhd develop Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Tapah, Perak, and the second phase of UiTM in Selangor respectively.

In an announcement to Bursa Malaysia, Crest Builders said the agreement, through its special-purpose vehicle Unitapah Sdn Bhd, would see the developer designing, developing, constructing and completing the Facilities and Infrastructure and the maintenance works for the UiTM campus in Tapah, Perak. The campus spans 19.2-acres covering three different faculties. The period of concession is 23 years.

Triplc Bhd, in its announcement to Bursa, said the Concession Agreement was for the development of the second phase of the UiTM Puncak Alam campus in Selangor. This includes the rights and authority for planning, development, construction, landscaping, equipping, installation, completion, testing and commissioning of the facilities and infrastructure and for maintenance works.

The second phase, on a 45.7-acre land, comprises academic facilities, student accommodations and centralised facilities. The Concession granted is for 23 years, consisting of three years for construction works to be completed and 20 years for maintenance works.
