KUALA LUMPUR: Fima Corp Bhd was reclassified into the industrial products sector, from the property sector, Bursa Malaysia said in an announcement on May 10.

According to its website, Fima Corp is an investment holding company with subsidiaries principally involved in manufacturing, plantation, property management and banknote printing.

Formerly known as Fima Metal Box Bhd, the company was incorporated on December 1974 as Metal Box Holdings Malaysia Sdn Bhd to acquire the subsidiaries of Metal Box Company of Malaysia Ltd, as part of the latter’s scheme of reconstruction.

From its early activities of manufacturing and printing of metal and plastic packaging containers, the company divested into the metal and packaging business and property management in 1993. It then ventured into the plantation industry in 2007.

Fima Corp owns the 5-storey Plaza Damansara, which comes with a 2-level basement car park.
