Mall of Medini, Nusajaya

NUSAJAYA, Nov 23: The Mall of Medini, a shopping centre located near Legoland Theme Park here will undergo a transformation in an effort to woo more visitors.

State executive councillor for tourism, trade and consumerism, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the change was necessary as the business centre was recording declining visitors which forced several business premises, those outlets serving food and drinks, to close down.

"The management of the Mall of Medini is implementing a marketing strategy by attracting new business premises based on the cultural concept as outlined in the State Tourism Master Plan 2014 up to 2023.

"Under this strategy, such premises are expected to have two areas specifically for cultural display activities namely the Blackbox and Whitebox," he told the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here today.

He said this in reply to a question by Datuk Maulizan Bujang (BN-Tiram) on the action taken by the state government to overcome the losses incurred by entrepreneurs at the business centre.
