PORT DICKSON: The KL Metro Group is developing a property project, "The Hibiscus Garden Chalets" in Tanjung Gemok near here.

The company's Chairman, Datuk Mat Hassan Esa, said the project, presently under construction, would offer 74 units of resort homes with their completion due in 14 months or July next year.

"Based on a garden concept, each unit, covering about 900 sq ft, will have its own swimming pool. Each unit has been priced from RM550,000 and above," he said here on May 31.

The project was launched by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Hasan.

He said 33 units or 45% of the resort homes have been sold with the takers mostly investors from Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, China and the Gulf region.

Mat Hassan said The Hibiscus Garden Chalets is the third phase of a development project under which the first phase, The Legend Water Chalets with 273 units of water chalets, and the second phase The Legend International Water Homes with 234 water homes, had been completed.

"All the three phases involve an investment of RM300 million. The Legend International Water Homes has also won the prestigious CNBN International Property Award in London in 2007.

"The Legend Water Chalets and The Legend International Water Homes have been in operations since 2006 and 2009, and have successfully attracted buyers from 34

countries including the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, the US, Canada, Western Europe, Gulf region, South Africa, Asia Pacific and Australasia," he said.

Mohamad, meanwhile, said the state government welcomed private sector participation in the development of the tourism sector.

Such projects would also help raise the image of Port Dickson and indirectly bring in more tourists to this beach resort, he added. -- Bernama
