KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) has appointed Reginald T Pereira as its new chief executive.

In a statement on Thursday Feb 11, MAH said Pereira will oversee the secretariat of MAH and the association’s training arm Malaysian Association of Hotels Training & Education Center (MAHTEC) affective Feb 1, besides working towards the objectives of the association.

Pereira led MAHTEC as its chief operating officer for three years prior to his appointment as CEO in MAH. He has been involved in the hospitality industry since 1983.

He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Development Corporation of Malaysia as well as a member of the DPCCE Industry Advisory Council under the Ministry of Higher Education and a Council Member of the National Association of Private Education Institutes.

MAH has also appointed Sophia Maxwell as its general manager. She has been with MAH since 1995 and served in various capacities.

Meanwhile, Sahak Ahmad has been named MAHTEC’s general manager. He has extensive experience in the education industry.
