SUBANG JAYA: The Main Place Residence in USJ 21 has finally obtained a certificate of fitness and occupancy (CFO) after it was abandoned three times, much to the delight of purchasers who had bought units at the project as far back as 1998. The white knight was Sumbangan Lagenda Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd.

According to Bina Puri chairman Tan Sri Wong Foon Meng, he is happy for having taken over the project and completing it with much improved facilities for the benefit of the buyers.

“Most of the facilities designed by the previous developer more than 16 years ago had become outdated in this present day and age,” he said.

The Main Place Residence has a gross development value of RM291 million and is built on 4.3 acres (1.74ha) of land. The development comprises The Peak, a four-block 25-storey serviced condominium with 1,211 units with built-ups from 418 sq ft to 1,535 sq ft, priced between RM560 and RM680 psf.

Its facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, residents’ hall, cafeteria, gym, sauna, playground, and squash court. To date, 90% of the residential units have been sold.

The anchor tenants for the commercial retail floors which opened recently include Jaya Grocer, Toy’s R Us, Starbucks, Popular bookstore, McDonalds, Uniqlo and Daiso, among others.

Bina Puri is a construction company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. It has more than 38 years of experience in civil and building construction on the domestic and international scenes. The group’s diverse businesses are investment holdings, civil and building engineering management, property development, highway concession, quarry operations, manufacturing of construction materials, and hospitality management.

The Main Place Residence took 16 years to complete after being taken over by white knight Sumbangan Lagenda Sdn Bhd.
