KUALA LUMPUR: MSC Cyberport Sdn Bhd has unveiled its development plans for Phase 1 of MSC Cyberport City in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.

MSC Cyberport City will be the information communications technology (ICT) flagship of Iskandar Malaysia in Johor. It is a state-of-the-art MSC Malaysia project to be developed in three phases on a 150-acre (60ha) piece of freehold land in Kulaijaya.

“MSC Cyberport City is targeted to attract local and international ICT and outsourcing companies that want to locate to Iskandar Malaysia. The MSC Cyberport City will be developed with all the key components required for such companies to thrive, including the infrastructure, talent and facilities required by these industries,” MSC Cyberport Johor CEO Ganesh Kumar Bangah said at the 2013 Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit recently.

Phase 1 of the development will cover 35 acres, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM626 million. Construction is expected to start in early 2014.

Phase one will feature a 125,000 sq ft MSC Cyberport digital centre, which will be the icon of MSC Cyberport City; 89 Cyber enterprise complexes for companies that want customised offices and data centre buildings; 400 units of Small Office Cyber Office for small start-ups and small e-commerce companies; a 364,000-sq ft Cyberpark; and a lifestyle and incubation centre.

MSC Cyberport City is strategically located at the meeting point of the North-South Highway and Second Link Highway, about half an hour’s drive from Singapore and three-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur.

The Johor Premium Outlets and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia are nearby.

MSC Cyberport is a public-private partnership spearheaded by the Johor government to create a global ICT business hub in Johor with a world-class living environment for both local and international ICT companies.
