KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 9): The Nomad Group Bhd, an integrated provider of serviced offices, hotels and serviced residences, is looking at growing its serviced office space by 30 per cent this year from 200,000 sq ft now.

Apart from Malaysia, the group has serviced offices in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.
Its chief executive officer, Roy George, said the group was currently identifying potential areas for the new serviced offices here as well as in regional cities where it has a presence now.

"We are quite optimistic this year despite the external uncertainties. I think the environment is conducive for us to grow," he told reporters after the signing ceremony with Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Malaysia Operation here on Wednesday Jan 9. George said as talks on the matter were still premature, the result would only be known by end-March.

He said in the next one or two years, the group planned to penetrate other regional countries where it has yet to have a presence. At the moment, serviced offices contributed about 40 per cent in terms of group revenue and hotels and serviced residences the rest.

He said the occupancy rate of serviced offices was about 80 per cent while hotels and serviced residences about 75 per cent.
On hotel and serviced residences, George said, the group was constantly on the lookout to invest here as well as in regional cities. The group, which acquired a hotel in Penang last October, has rebranded it as Nomad Penang.

The 130-room hotel is expected to be opened by June this year. The signing today will see the Nomad Offices partner Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Malaysia Operations embark on a project to improvise the document management services for its tenants.

By upgrading its multi-function devices and its solutions, their tenants will be able to benefit from faster, secure technology with less paper wastage. Instead of manually retrieving usage report from the photocopier at the end of each month, this new technology will send usage data instantly and directly to the Nomad Offices' very own proprietary property management system for greater efficiency and real time reporting.

Apart from that, it will offer clients with remote application -- the Fuji Xerox Cloud Solutions that provide users with freedom to access, download, edit and print documents from their mobile devices, anywhere and anytime, securely and efficiently. -- Bernama
