KUALA LUMPUR (April 16, 2013): Paramount Corp Bhd (PCB) announced yesterday the resignation of its Group Chief Executive Officer Chan Say Yeong, effective immediately.

In a statement issued on April 15, 2013, PCB Executive Deputy Chairman Datuk Teo Chiang Quan said Chan has been instrumental in helping the company chart a new course for the future.

"We greatly value the energy and effort he has put into the company since he joined us just under a year ago. He has expressed his wish to pursue his own interests, we wish him well," Teo added.

Teo said he would assume the role of group chief executive officer in the interim, whilst the selection for a new chief executive officer is being undertaken.

"It will be business as usual, with no changes in the management of our two business divisions. Datuk Ricque Liew will continue to run Paramount Property while Datin Teh Geok Lian will oversee the KDU Education Group," he added. -Bernama
