KUALA LUMPUR: Construction firm Sunway Holdings Bhd has accepted two letters of award from Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Sept 1, the company said its wholly owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd accepted the awards totaling RM69.88 million on Aug 30.

The first contract is the proposed construction and completion of roadworks, drainage, utilities and landscaping works at Precinct 7 and Precinct 8 (Phase 2) Package A for Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan Putrajaya from Putrajaya Holdings.

This project is targeted to be completed on February 23, 2012 with a construction period of 18 months.

The second contract is the proposed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of chilled water storage tank, plant-building and other associated works for gas district cooling plant 4 at Putrajaya from Gas District Cooling (Putrajaya) Sdn Bhd, a unit of Putrajaya Holdings.

This project is then targeted for completion on November 14 next year with a construction period of 14.5 months.

In another filing to the local bourse, Sunway Holdings said the setting up of Sunway International Trading (Tianjin) Pte Ltd was completed on Aug 30, after it was issued Certificate of Organisation Code by the relevant authority on the same day.

Sunway International Trading (Tianjin) was incorporated by Sunway Trading (Shanghai) Pte Ltd on May 6 as a limited company.

Sunway Trading (Shanghai) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunway Global Ltd, which in turn is a 76.92%-owned subsidiary of Sunway Holdings.
