PETALING JAYA: Boustead Properties, the developer of the Mutiara Damansara township in Petaling Jaya, has sold 80% of Surian Residences, its latest condominium project in the township.

The take-up was recorded within the day of the project's launch on July 3, said Boustead Properties executive director Datuk Ghazali Mohd Ali.

Speaking to theedgeproperty.com, Ghazali added that all non-bumiputera units in the freehold condo project were sold, while there were 70 bumiputera units left at the end of the launch day. More than 1,000 people turned up for the sales launch, with 500 ballots deposited.

“The project allocated 50% of the units for Bumiputera buyers in accordance with the Selangor State’s regulations. We expect the sale of all the units by the end of next month,” he noted.

The RM300 million development on an 8-acre site located offers 311 units in two towers of 25 storeys and 23 storeys respectively. Unit sizes ranged from 850 sq ft to 2,443 sq ft, and priced from RM507,000 to RM1.35 million. Prices per square feet ranged from RM550 to RM650 psf.

Surian Condominiums, Boustead Properties' first condominium project in the township, comprises 376 units and was launched in February 2004 at an average price of RM250 to RM300 psf.

Ghazali said the next launch of residences in Mutiara Damansara may comprise low-rise condominiums but plans have not been confirmed. There are about five acres left for residential development in the township.

Mutiara Damansara is a 360-acre township development that comprises mainly landed homes and a commercial precinct housing the Ikano and The Curve shopping centers.
