PETALING JAYA: TRC Synergy Bhd's wholly-owned construction arm Trans Resources Corp Sdn Bhd has been awarded a RM43.8 million contract to undertake the construction of two types of public housing at Precinct 8 in Putrajaya.

With this latest contract, TRC's order book will rise to RM1.3 billion and is expected to keep the company busy for the next three years, the company noted in a statement on Wednesday, Apr 20.

It added that the latest housing project in Putrajaya would include the construction of 40 units of three-storey semi-detached and four units of 2½-storey semi-detached public housing at two different parcels of land in Precinct 8. Two mock-up showhouses will be built to be completed in 12 months from the date of site possession on Wednesday.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 20 months

"We are very pleased to undertake the projects and will complete them within the time frame as stipulated," said the company's executive chairman Datuk Seri Sufri Mohd Zain.

He added that the company had successfully executed more than RM200 million worth of jobs for Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd.

"Going forward, we are hopeful that our clients from both the public and private sectors will continue to have confidence in our ability especially in the area of technically challenged projects," said Sufri.

"We remain optimistic that our initiatives to bid for projects under Score (Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy) would be favourably considered by the relevant authorities. So far, TRC has submitted numerous tenders for Score projects worth more than RM1 billion," he added.

Being a Sarawak UPK Class A licence holder, TRC is able to secure state-funded contracts, which are opened to licensed holders only.

TRC's stock ended one sen lower to RM1.56 on Wednesday.
