KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): UOA Group recently organised the “Kempen Kembali Ke Sekolah”, a back to school campaign where it distributed new uniforms to school children from low-income families living near Bangsar South.

The event was held last weekend at the Taman Bukit Angkasa community hall located next to Suria Bangsar South – a community centre operated by Soroptimist International Club of Bangsar (SICB) and sponsored by UOA Group.

“Many families are struggling to afford the school costs that include basic necessities such as uniforms for their children. We hope that our contribution will not only ease their financial burden but also help the children kick start their new academic year on a positive note,” said general manager of UOA Development Bhd Eugene Lee.

“The back to school campaign complements our corporate social responsibility (CSR) objective and commitment to provide financial assistance to families and children in need in the vicinity of Bangsar South. We will continue in our efforts to support such meaningful initiatives as they form the basis of a caring community with the aim to establish a better future for those in need,” he added.

In addition to the school uniforms, UOA also contributed 10 laptop computers as lucky draw prizes for the children at the event.

Educational talks on topics such as personal safety for children and the importance of knowledge were also held by SICB and Asia-Africa Destitute Relief Fund Malaysia.
