Property mergers to the fore

KUALA LUMPUR: Size matters. This is the message that property developers have been sending out recently, as seen from the slew of tie-ups among the big names.

In the span of a month, three significant proposed mergers among property developers have emerged in the market, and all with the objective of building up size.

LFE Corp 3Q net loss at RM2.07m

KUALA LUMPUR: LFE Corporation Bhd has posted net loss of RM2.07 million for its third quarter (3Q) ended Sept 30, 2010, from a net profit of RM659,000 a year ago on lower revenue.

Its turnover plunged 69.8% to RM13.35 million from RM44.27 million a year ago on lower contribution from its construction activities, it announced to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Nov 26.

Lebar Daun 3Q net loss at RM1.1m

KUALA LUMPUR: Lebar Daun Bhd has posted a net loss of RM1.1 million for its third quarter (3Q) ended Sept 30, 2010, from net profit of RM359,000 a year ago on the back of impairment allowance for trade receivables not provided for a year ago.

Bertam Alliance 3Q net profit surges to RM2.28m

KUALA LUMPUR: Bertam Alliance Bhd's net profit surged to RM2.28 million for its third quarter (3Q) ended Sept 30, 2010, from RM574,000 a year ago on higher operating income.

Revenue more than doubled to RM13.38 million from RM5.77 million, it announced to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Nov 26.

Brem Holding net profit up 32.9% to RM4.49m

KUALA LUMPUR: Brem Holding Bhd's net profit rose 32.9% to RM4.49 million for its second quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, from RM3.01 million a year ago on higher revenue.

Turnover inched up to RM28.63 million from RM28.55 million a year ago, it announced to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Nov 26.

Farlim 3Q net profit surges to RM3.65m

KUALA LUMPUR: Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd's revenue surged to RM3.65 million for its third quarter (3Q) ended Sept 30, 2010 from RM618,000 a year ago on higher revenue.

Turnover rose 36.1% to RM24.63 million from RM18.09 million a year ago, it announced to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Nov 26.
