Malaysia’s daily administered Covid-19 vaccine doses slipped to 441,100 on Aug 22 from 469,690 a day earlier.

Operating since June 7, the PPV is managed by its developer, S P Setia Bhd and supported by combined efforts of public servants, medical personnel and Team Setia volunteers as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. 

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said 721,697 individuals, or 88.6% of the adult population had received the first dose of the vaccine.

“All parties should be able to work as a team to persevere the harmony in the country. In other words, we must embrace the spirit of togetherness."

Cumulatively, 30.84 million Covid-19 vaccine doses had been administered across the nation thus far. 

This is the second day the country saw a declining trend in new infections. 

Selangor accounted for 77 of the fatalities, followed by Sabah (27), Kedah (23),Penang (20), Kuala Lumpur (18), Melaka (18), Johor (14), Negeri Sembilan (11), Perak (7), Pahang (5), Sarawak (2) and Putrajaya (1).
