MUI Properties Bhd (KL:MUIPROP) executive chairman Boo Yeow’s latest deal saw the sale of a sizeable parcel of land near Port Dickson to Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) for the latter’s data centre venture.

Shareholders of the JV company, Isthmus Developments Sdn Bhd, mutually decided to abort the project as it is "no longer desired by the shareholders", CMSB said in a bourse filing on Tuesday.

Koong Wai Seng, 57, was redesignated as an executive chairman of Epicon, formerly known as Konsortium Transnasional Bhd, on Oct 1.

MUI Properties said Gamuda acquired the land in the industrial park of its flagship Bandar Springhill development for the outfit's high-tech digital infrastructure hub.

The building, which is currently vacant, will serve as the office for Apex Group and its subsidiaries, the company said.

Shares of MUI Properties have more than doubled so far this year, after hitting a two-decade high on Sept 30.

The Johor-based property developer recorded a net profit of RM103 million for the quarter ended Oct 31, 2024 (3QFY2025), compared to RM18 million a year earlier, according to a bourse filing on Friday.

“These approvals enable us to execute our strategic vision and capitalise on opportunities in the dynamic property market,” said Paragon Globe executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng.
