UOA Group charity Bangsar South

PETALING JAYA (Sept 15): UOA Group has raised RM81,000 from its Bangsar South Charity Walk Together 2015 event.

More than 1,600 participants including children from three charitable homes took part in the 3.5km walk around Bangsar South on Sept 12. The walk was part of the group's corporate social responsibility programme.

“We would like to express our gratitude to all the participants who joined us on the walk in support of this meaningful cause. The funds raised will aid the underprivileged children in need,” said property director of UOA Group, Cecelia Chan in a press statement.

The money raised will go to Rumah Anak Yatim Shifa, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels and Pusat Bantuan Sentul.

Each of the charities received RM27,000 at the mock cheque presentation ceremony, which took place before the start of the charity walk.

The walk was aimed at encouraging people from different backgrounds to make a positive difference by demonstrating their solidarity for a good cause.

“We are very pleased to see that so many people from diverse cultural backgrounds have come together to contribute to the initiative. This shows that we are a truly caring Malaysian society,” said Chan.
