The victims have been identified as Muhammad Haikal Hakimi Mohd Noor, 17, and Mohamad Haziq Ishak, also 17.
Bandar Baharu district police chief deputy superintendent Baruddin Wariso said Haikal, from Kampung Leret C and Haziq, from Kampung Leret A, failed to realise that part of the road had collapsed.
It is learnt that the victims were buried under the rubble, following which firemen from the Serdang Fire and Rescue Station were mobilised to the scene.
The first victim was found at 12.15 am today and the second victim about five minutes later.
The bodies were then sent to Kulim Hospital for post mortem.
Kedah Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said it received a distress call on the incident at 10.27 pm and 11 firemen from the Serdang Fire Station were mobilised to the scene.
"On arrival at the scene, they saw a Yamaha LC 135 motorcycle under the rubble of the bridge at a housing area and believed there were two victims involved,” he said, adding that a search was conducted by digging the area using hoes to recover the victims who were buried under about 0.3 metres of rubble.
