KANGAR: A total of 269 projects worth RM6.46 billion have been proposed for implementation in Perlis for the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP), the Perlis State Assembly sitting was told on April 6.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu said the agricultural sector had the most with a total of 102 projects estimated to cost RM2.2 billion.

Replying to an oral question from Hashim Jasin (PAS-Sanglang), he said 64 projects for infrastructure and public amenities estimated to cost RM1.59 billion had also been proposed for implementation.

The Menteri Besar said the others were 16 commercial and industrial projects involving a cost of RM1.77 billion, 28 local government projects costing an estimated RM388 million, 16 tourism projects costing RM277 million and 23 social projects costing RM202 million.

All the project proposals had been submitted to the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister's Department on Feb 9, Dr Md Isa said. The State Assembly sitting, which began today (April 6), will end tomorrow. – Bernama
