KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with World Day of Architects 2010, the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) will be holding an exhibition titled "Architects Malaysia" to honour the contributions of local architects and the industry.

The exhibition, which will be held at PAM Centre in Jalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur, will highlight over 80 projects, including award-winning works by local talents, as well as existing projects of the Public Works Department and PAM's Gold Medal Award Winners here and overseas.

This exhibition marks the first time Malaysia is officially taking part in the World Day of Architect celebrations, which this year carries the theme Better City, Better Life - Sustainable by Design.

"This unique event will not only exhibit projects which are now major landmarks in the country, but also developmental project work undertaken overseas. Our efforts to make this exhibition possible symbolises our pride for Malaysian talent and expertise in architecture," said PAM president Boon Chee Wee.

The exhibition will be launched by Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad bin Ismail on Monday, Oct 4.

Also at the event will be the launch of a commemorative book by PAM titled Shapers of Modern Malaysia - Lives and Works of the PAM Gold Medallists, which features the works, achievements and contributions of five leading and award-winning Malaysian architects.
