KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corporation Bhd entered into an agreement with Xinan Public Asset Investment Co. Ltd to construct two wastewater treatment plans in China’s Xinan County in the Guangdong Province at the cost of RM97 million, the Group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, July 6.
“Berjaya Corp will be granted rights to build, operate and maintain the plants for a period of 25 years and to transfer the plans back to Xinan Public Asset Investment at no cost,” the Group said.
The revenue generated from this project will be about 1.07 billion yuan (RM516 million) at the end of the 25-year period.
The construction of the two plants, the Jinben Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant and Jiangnan New District Wastewater Treatment Plant, would cost 200 million yuan, and would be implemented in phases.
