KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Goodyear Bhd (BG) recorded a loss of of RM909,000 in the third quarter of 2010 ended March 31, 2010 compared with a loss of RM4.717 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

It also reported a 26.38% drop in revenue with a collection of RM67.231 million for the quarter under review versus RM91.324 million from the same period last year.

The Groups explained in Bursa Malaysia on May 25, that the loss was attributed to a cost write-off by a subsidiary for completed projects.

BG said in its listing that it recently secured a contract valued at RM58.8 million to construct a budget hotel and will continue to seek new contracts and investment opportunities.

The Group's principal activity is construction and building works. It is also involved in property development, as well as construction machinery and equipment rental. Operations are carried out mainly in Malaysia.
