BEIJING: New home prices in Beijing rose 4.9% in March from a year earlier, slowing from an annual increase of 6.8% in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday, Apr 18.
In Shanghai, the prices were up 1.7% in March, compared with a rise of 2.3% in February.
Chinese new home prices rose 5.2% nationwide in March from a year earlier, down from a 5.7% increase in February, according to a weighted average calculated by Reuters.
In month-on-month terms, new home prices stood flat in Beijing and rose 0.2% in Shanghai, the NBS said.
It added that new home prices rose in 68 of the 70 cities tracked by the agency in March from a year earlier. — Reuters
