KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has emerged as a substantial shareholder of property development group UEM Sunrise Bhd.
A Bursa Malaysia filing yesterday showed that the EPF had on April 18 acquired 678,000 shares in a direct transaction. The price at which the shares were transacted was not disclosed.
Following the share acquisition, the EPF’s stake in UEM Sunrise now stands at 227.13 million shares or 5%.
