KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Warehouse Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s luxury kitchen and bathroom distributor, has partnered German kitchen manufacturer Warendorf to present The Starck by Warendorf — the Warendorf Kitchen Range by iconic French designer Philippe Starck — in Malaysia.

This is the first complete The Starck kitchen outside Europe. The launch on Wednesday also marked the official introduction to the Malaysian market the Warendorf brand formerly known as Miele Küchen.

Presented over a total showroom floor area of 2,600 sq ft at the Bina Warehouse show gallery in Kuala Lumpur, The Starck by Warendorf comprises four different kitchen concepts themed Library, Primary, Duality and Tower.

“We would like to thank Warendorf for giving us the opportunity to embark on this exciting venture. The combination of Warendorf and Miele fits like hand in glove, we believe that this will be a start of a very successful partnership in many years to come,” said Bina Warehouse executive director Henry Kok in his speech at the launch.

Also present was German Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Guenter Georg Gruber and Warendorf managing director Thorsten Prée.

“We believe that we have created something that excites the market while providing the powerful sense of brand identification to our sales partners and customers.

“Warendorf has a presence in several locations throughout Asia-Pacific. We have partners in Beijing, Osaka, Tokyo and Shanghai, and now we have a strong partner in the Malaysian market, Bina Warehouse. I had the pleasure of meeting them during our house fair in Germany in September and am convinced that they are the right partner for all our businesses here,” Prée said.

Warendorf has been around since 1973 and the name was changed from Miele Küchen in line with the name of the town where they  are made in Germany. Warendorf brand and Warendorfer Küchen GmbH belong to AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG, which is based in Arbon, Thurgau in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, established for around 39 years, Bina Warehouse is a retailer and distributor of bathroom and kitchen products mainly from Europe such as Hansgrohe, Duravit, Kohler and Jazucci, as well as Alno Kitchens.

They have been involved in fitting out some high-end property projects in the Klang Valley such as One Menerung Bangsar, Clearwater Residences, The Troika, Binjai Residency, Ampersand, Iringan Hijau, Sunway Palazzio and Menara Goldhill.
