KUALA LUMPUR: Four Seasons Resort Langkawi (pictured) in Pulau Langkawi, Kedah, has been named Malaysia’s best resort for its “Excellence in Hotel Services” in the 5-star (resort) category at the 16th Malaysia Tourism Awards 2008/09 during a gala awards dinner held on Jan 9, 2010.

According to a statement by Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, the awards are held every two years, and this time around, there were 600 nominees for 46 awards in 12 categories.

General manager Greg Pirkle said: “This is a powerful endorsement indeed of all the staff’s efforts, reflecting in particular our commitment to great customer care in consistently delivering the service excellence synonymous with the name Four Seasons.”

Four Seasons Resort Langkawi has 91 pavilions and villas.

Four Seasons, founded in 1960, currently has 82 hotels in 34 countries and more than 40 properties under development.
