PETALING JAYA: The women’s wing of Parti Gerakan wants the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report to be declassified.

In a statement on Nov 24, Gerakan Wanita secretary-general Jayanthi Devi Balaguru, said findings of the investigations into the tragedy should be made public to uphold accountability and transparency.

“The incident had caused deaths and the people have the right to know the whole picture of the case. Action should also be taken against the offenders,” she said as the report should not only reveal the causes but also those responsible.

The incident killed five and damaged 14 bungalows on Dec 6, last year.

The Selangor state government’s earlier attempt to release the landslide report to the public hit a snag when it was told that the classified report needs the Works Minister’s approval to be declassified.
