KUALA LUMPUR: Guocoland (Malaysia) Bhd managed to reduce its pre-tax loss for the third quarter ended Mar 31, 2011 to RM3.187 million from a loss of RM6.074 million in the same period last year.

Revenue decreased to RM23.955 million from RM42.420 million previously.

For the nine-month period, it recorded a pre-tax loss of RM1.466 million from a pre-tax profit of RM3.057 million in the corresponding period last year as revenue fell to RM84.290 million from RM130.496 million.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, Apr 13, the company said the higher revenue and profit before tax for the preceding year's corresponding period, was mainly due to the sale of a parcel of land for RM26.6 million which yielded a profit of RM13.2 million. — Bernama
