KUALA LUMPUR: The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), together with the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) and four institutions of higher learning, are jointly organising the International Construction Conference 2009 (ICC 2009) at the Putra World Trade Centre here on Dec 2.

The institutions of higher learning are Universiti Technology Mara

(UiTM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) and Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC). 

The conference, themed, "Challenges of Global Mega Projects-Maximising Value,

Minimising Costs for Excellence", is designed to meet the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs of participants from the building and construction industry.

The president of CIOB Malaysia, Yeow Yoon Foo said the conference will also focus on strategies and challenges of mega projects as well as critical success factors and issues encountered in managing projects with specific emphasis.

"This is the fourth consecutive year that the ICC is focusing on the performance and challenges of global mega projects, in search of excellence in the development, design, construction and management projects worldwide," he said in a statement on Nov 23.

The conference fee is RM330 for CIOB, MBAM, endorsing organisations, supporting institutions, academicians and students and RM380 for the general public. -- Bernama
