KUALA LUMPUR: The preview of Mah Sing Group Bhd’s Icon Residence Mont’Kiara on July 16 to 18 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre received more than 1,000 potential buyers.
“The response was flattering for a project that is priced at an average RM1,200 psf,” said Mah Sing Properties’ chief operating officer Teh Heng Chong in a statement on Tuesday, July 20.
“It shows that there are buyers out there who would pay a little bit more to own a unique piece of property that is limited in supply.”
Teh added that a special preview of the development will be held in Singapore soon.
As a result of the strong demand, the official launch may be sooner then expected. “We would definitely want to launch Icon Residence Mont’Kiara as soon as possible pending a few approvals,” Teh explained.
The Icon Residence Mont’Kiara is a Mediterranean-themed development on 2.57 acres of freehold land located between Persiaran Dutamas and the new Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE). The gross development value of the project is estimated to be RM298 million.
It contains tree towers namely Icon 1, Icon 2 and Icon 3 with about two to six units per floor, all corner units.
It has a total of 260 units that range from 875 sq ft to 2,697 sq ft each, and are selling from RM956,800 onwards. The six duplex penthouses start from RM5.35 million and range from 4,200 sq ft to 4,436 sq ft, with each penthouse having its own private swimming pool.
