KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): Mercury Industries Bhd secured a RM106.6 million contract involving the construction of serviced apartments under PR1MA Homes.

In a filing with the bourse today, Mercury said the contract entailed the construction of four apartment towers involving 648 apartments at Pekan Tanjung Kling Sek 11, Daerah Melaka Tengah, Melaka.

"The said project is expected to contribute positively to the net assets and earnings of Mercury group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2016," Mercury said.

Mercury said its 70%-owned subsidiary Paramount Bounty Sdn Bhd accepted the project from Upaya Jernih Sdn Bhd "for the construction and completion of the main building and external works".

Mercury said the contract was for 29 months, starting from Feb 1 this year. -- theedgemarkets.com
