Over RM14b in Cyberjaya projects for next four years

CYBERJAYA: More than RM14 billion worth of properties will be built in Cyberjaya over four years, mainly by eight developers, said a spokesman for the master developer of the township recently.

The eight developers are Emkay Group (RM4 billion), S P Setia Bhd (RM3 billion), Cyberjaya’s master developer Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd (RM2.7 billion), MCT Consortium Bhd (RM2 billion), Areca Properties Sdn Bhd (RM1 billion), Glomac Bhd (RM240 million), Paramount Property Sdn Bhd (RM900 million) and UEM Sunrise Bhd (RM310 million).

Units that are currently under construction will also add 30,000 residential units after completion in 2016, said Setia Haruman head of sales and marketing Liew Yeon Keong.

“By end-2016, the residential population is expected to exceed 100,000 in the township. [Hence], we anticipate businesses in Cyberjaya [will be successful],” he told reporters.

Paramount Property managing director Datuk Ricque Liew said the presence of major property players shows they are confident about Cyberjaya. “[As] developers, we [create new neighbourhoods by drawing people and amenities] to new areas and Cyberjaya is one of them.”

The developers were speaking at a press conference in conjunction with the third annual Cyberjaya Premier Property Showcase (CPPS) which will be held on April 19 and 20.

The event is organised by the eight developers to help people invest in Cyberjaya real estate.

The developments showcased in CPPS 2014 have a combined worth of RM11.4 billion, comprising Setia Haruman’s CBD Perdana, Ceria Residences, Gardenview Residence and Westlink 1 and 2 Cyberjaya, S P Setia’s Setia EcoGlades Cyberjaya, MCT Consortium’s [email protected] Cyberjaya and Lakefront Villa Cyberjaya, UEM Sunrise’s Symphony Hills and Verdi, Emkay Group’s Block [email protected] Embassay Techzone, Domain 5, Star Central and Tamarind Square, Glomac’s Glomac Cyberjaya 2, Paramount Property’s Sejati Residences, and Areca Properties’ Areca Contempo Homes.

Yeon Kong said the success of the previous two events has spurred Setia Haruman to continue hosting the CPPS.
